Councilors push community garden improvements; town manager reports building and grounds work

Councilman Joseph Hollis said he would like the town to take a more active stance on the community garden. Vice Mayor Jason Nauman suggested investing in a banner to make the garden more appealing to residents; Hollis offered to write the check. Councilors agreed the matter should be considered by the Beautification Committee and Parks & Rec before further action.
Town Manager Mike Majher provided routine public-works updates: staff replaced the roof on the Old School using in-house labor (the minutes cite an employee named Rich), crews have been mowing and trimming town property, and tree plantings are planned. Majher also reiterated that water bills had been mailed.
Mayor Michael A. Diaz raised the idea of moving council meetings to 6:00 p.m.; the council agreed to hold a public hearing in October before any change is made. The meeting adjourned at 7:21 p.m.
