Afton council appoints Brock Brown to fill vacant seat in 4–1 vote

Mayor Jeff Jensen nominated Brock Brown to fill the council seat vacated by Michael Butler. Council Member Dirk Hillyard moved to appoint Brown and Council Member Will Wilkes seconded. The motion carried with recorded votes in favor by Council Members Scott Griffith, Will Wilkes, Dirk Hillyard and Mayor Jeff Jensen; Council Member Michael Butler voted against the appointment.
Town Clerk Tina McGarvey administered the oath of office to Brock Brown, who then assumed the council seat. The minutes record outgoing Council Member Michael Butler was thanked for his service.
The minutes also list Scott Griffith among those who voted in favor despite an earlier attendance note that he had been excused at the start of the meeting; the transcript does not record his return to the dais before the vote.
