Tax Collector Nancy McNeal told the board she is preparing to finalize a contract with Avitar for tax-collection software but is holding the agreement pending tests for compatibility with the town’s current assessing software (BMSI/ProVal). McNeal said the board is also exploring MTS as an alternative if compatibility problems persist.
Board members did not vote on the software contract at the meeting and directed staff to complete compatibility testing before returning the contract for final approval. The Selectmen did not provide a projected cost for the Avitar contract at the meeting.
The board’s action on the semi-annual warrant and the dog warrant was recorded as passed in open session. No vote tallies were provided in the minutes.
