The Hobart City Redevelopment Authority voted to grant a six‑month extension to the petitioner for a proposed 67‑lot subdivision known as Bickley Hollow (petition 23‑12).
The petitioner (speaker 8) said market conditions had improved, reported about 45 presales across his operations and said the developer had paid roughly $156,000 through Baker Tilly in predevelopment work. He told the board he intends to buy the property outright and proceed with infrastructure once financing and contractor availability align. "So we're just asking for another extension," the petitioner said.
Commissioner Marco Rodriguez recommended a one‑year extension because the TIF process and council review may take time, but multiple members supported a six‑month extension so the developer must update the board. A motion to grant a six‑month extension was moved and seconded, and the board approved it by voice vote.
The extension requires the petitioner to return with an update at the six‑month mark and to continue coordination with staff on financing and design matters.
