Council reports no bids for 211 High Street RFP, accepts cookie donation for tree lighting and recaps FGS 5K

At the Oct. 20 work session, the New Windsor Town Council addressed several community and administrative items.
The town reported that no bids or proposals were received for the 211 High Street request for proposals; council members asked staff for additional information about the property’s lead-free certificate before deciding on next steps.
Layla Warden of Deeply Rooted LLC offered to donate cookies for the town tree-lighting event. The council agreed to accept the donation provided Warden supplies proof of insurance.
Mayor Kevin Cornick also reported that the FGS 5K held the previous Saturday had roughly 90 participants; the town will publish results and photos when they are available. The council announced its next regular meeting will be Monday, Nov. 3, and the next work session is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 19. No resident concerns were raised during the public-comment portion of the session and the meeting adjourned at 8:23 p.m.
