New Windsor affirms MS4 compliance, approves F-250 purchase and defers UTV decision

Public Works Director Myers told the New Windsor Town Council on April 21 that the town remains in compliance with its MS4 permit and is currently in year three of a five-year permit cycle. Myers said implementing brine usage is not necessary at this time.
The council approved purchasing a Ford F-250 from Apple Ford for $68,258.84 after a motion by Councilmember William Holl, seconded by Councilmember Connor Frock; the vote was 5-0. Councilmember Kevin Cornick subsequently moved to split the purchase cost between the General Fund and the Enterprise Fund and to pull from reserves if necessary; Vice President and Councilmember Kimberlee Schultz seconded that motion and it passed 5-0.
Council also reviewed three bids for a utility terrain vehicle (UTV): Pete Cycle at $46,833.78, Ripon of Westminster at $33,616.69 and Metro Bob-Cat at $42,255.06. The UTV budget was $30,000 and the lowest bid exceeds that amount by $3,616.69. Council decided to take more time to review the UTV bids and discuss the item at the next council meeting rather than approve a purchase at this session.
The F-250 purchase approvals included direction on funding sources; the UTV item remains under consideration.
