The Town of Mountain board entered a closed session Oct. 22 under Wisconsin Statutes §19.85(1)(b) and §19.85(1)(c) to discuss personnel matters and employee applications. Supervisor Carey-Mielke moved to enter closed session and Supervisor O'Barski seconded; the roll-call vote was O'Barski—Aye; Carey-Mielke—Aye; Maletzke—Aye. The board left for closed session at 7:20 p.m. and reconvened in open session at 7:38 p.m.
After reviewing applications and interviews completed Oct. 8, Supervisor O'Barski moved that the board offer Richard Coomer a position, to be assigned primarily to the Recycle Center with additional duties possible later; Supervisor Carey-Mielke seconded and the motion carried. The minutes record the board's decision to move forward with an offer to Richard Coomer but do not specify compensation, start date or job classification beyond the initial assignment to the Recycle Center.
On the Town Foreman position the minutes show interest from a current town employee and receipt of a couple of resumes; the board agreed to schedule interviews on Monday, Oct. 28 beginning at 5:30 p.m. The transcript does not identify the current employee by name or indicate whether a formal posting or selection timetable will follow.
The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m. Clerk/Treasurer Lynn Kauzlaric submitted the minutes, which were posted Nov. 12, 2024.
