Mister Fields reviewed two policy items during the committee meeting. The first, Policy 02/006, updates student catchment boundaries to reflect the opening of Clifton Heights Middle School and the closure of Charles Hill; he reminded the public that the district’s transportation/address lookup is available on the district website for families checking assignments.
The second item, Policy 218.1, updates reporting language related to weapons incidents; Mister Fields described the changes as an update to the reporting process and said the revised language appears in the policy draft. Both policy revisions were presented as first readings and will return for a second reading and board action at the June meeting.
Committee members confirmed that the catchment database has already been updated in the district’s systems and encouraged the public to use the online lookup tool. No votes on these policies were taken at the committee level; the items will be considered again at the June board meeting.
