Muscoda board adopts nuisance ordinance change, approves licenses and schedules budget meetings; recycling and community events announced

Trustees adopted an ordinance removing village responsibility for stump removal, approved a cigarette license and operator licenses, raised some local police fees, scheduled budget meetings beginning Sept. 24, and heard notices on a recycling collection Oct. 12 and a UTV Fest Oct. 5.
At its Sept. 10 meeting the Muscoda Village Board adopted an amendment to ordinance section 6-4-5 that removes village personnel from stump removal and related landscaping after nuisance-tree removal. Trustee Seifert moved to adopt the ordinance amendment, seconded by Imhoff; the motion passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting yes.
The board approved a cigarette license for Next Level Perspective LLC and granted operator licenses to Izeah Currier and Michael Dailey. Trustees voted to increase certain local vehicle-fee charges: renewal fees to $16 and registration fees to $38 after Chief Schramm reported that CVR increased fees charged to the village.
Office employee Carla Doudna briefed the board on a free e-recycling event scheduled for Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., with L&M Salvage offering complimentary appliance disposal; the event is open to area residents. Dan Behrens said he is organizing a UTV Fest and Memorial Ride with food trucks and live music on Oct. 5 and asked for assistance with parking signage.
The board approved a seasonal campsite application and discussed campsite fees for 2025 (current rates: $1,500 April 1–Nov. 30; $200 winter storage) and scheduled budget meetings beginning Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. Trustees also approved attendance at external meetings including a Sept. 25 meeting in Potosi and the League’s annual conference Oct. 23–25 in Madison.
The board entered closed session to review public-employee evaluations and discuss revolving loans under Wis. Stat. §19.85(1)(c) and (f); the board reconvened in open session and reported no decisions made during closed session. The meeting adjourned following reconvening.
Actions that passed at the meeting included the ordinance amendment, the CWFP resolutions, pay application #6, and several routine licenses and approvals.
