Muscoda board approves seasonal camper for site 59, declines proposed fee hike

The Muscoda Village Board accepted a seasonal camper application for site No. 59 at its Sept. 24 special meeting and authorized staff to review and approve seasonal-site applications received during the month.
Trustee Imhoff moved to accept the application and Trustee Seifert seconded; the motion carried. The board agreed that Chief Schramm, Wardell and Administrator Cinda Johnson may review seasonal-site applications submitted during the month and that Administration Johnson will report approved applications back to the board.
The board also considered raising seasonal-camper fees for 2025. Trustee Seifert moved, with E Johnson seconding, to increase the seasonal fee from the current $1,500 (April 1–Nov. 30) to $1,600 and to raise winter-storage fees from $200 to $300. On a roll call, E Johnson and Seifert voted yes; Imhoff, Wiederholt, Miller, Anderson and President Hackl voted no. The motion was defeated.
Board members discussed whether campers should be allowed to remain occupied during winter storage months and noted there are currently five empty seasonal sites; the board placed the winter-occupancy and cost question on the October agenda for further consideration.
