Committee selects Michael Signs design for Indian Head Park message center

The Mukwonago Committee of the Whole on April 1 recommended approval of design No. 1 from Michael Signs for an electronic message center at Indian Head Park after reviewing three publicly bid proposals.
Staff said the RFP required compatibility with existing wayfinding and message-center software; the chosen design meets those specs and came in as the lowest responsive bid (about $83,370), which staff said fits the village’s $90,000 capital projection. Staff described the typical warranty as one year for labor and five years for parts and noted the recommended system includes a cellular plan for remote programming and uses the Ignite/WatchFire platform the village uses elsewhere.
The staff presentation explained the selected design is more compact than an alternative from Look Creative and avoids the taller BCE option (estimated at about 12 feet tall). Trustees questioned visibility and whether the sign could interfere with fireworks; staff said the selected placement is set back from the road and will not block fireworks sightlines.
Trustees voted to approve sign design No. 1 from Michael Signs by voice vote.
