Council approves Biolytics pavement-management software at about $8,500 per year

Richfield’s public-works staff presented Biolytics, a pavement-assessment and work-order system, and the council approved purchasing the subscription.
"It's $8,500 per year," the presenter (speaker 13) said when asked about the cost during the demonstration. Staff described how the program captures imagery every 10–12 feet, assigns condition scores, supports work orders tied to specific locations, and can export data for future use.
Council members asked about adoption, export formats and whether the startup vendor would remain viable; staff said the system supports data export so the city would not lose historical records if it switched products.
The council approved purchasing the software to support pavement assessment and internal work-order management. Staff said the system should improve record-keeping and help prioritize repairs.
