Bambi Kern told the board that when a citizen dials 911 the first county employee they reach is often a public‑safety telecommunicator, who gathers critical information and coordinates the response. "The dispatcher is responsible for gathering critical information, making rapid decisions and coordinating the response," Kern said.
Vice‑Chair Sarah Cordova moved to approve R‑26‑43; Commissioner Philip Troost seconded, and the board voted 5‑0 to adopt the resolution. The action formally acknowledges telecommunicators' role in the county's emergency response system and was recorded in the meeting exhibits.
