Mike McNallan, filling in for President Brian Glass, presided as the Village of Nelson board met Oct. 9, 2024, and approved a set of routine items, including 2025 website fees and plans to put an older storage shed up for bids.
The actions at the 7:00 p.m. meeting in the Village Community Hall followed roll call that showed Brian Glass, Kevin and Bruce absent. Randy moved to approve the September minutes, and Becca seconded; the motion carried. No members of the public offered comments during the public-comment period.
Under other business, McNallan said he is obtaining bids for handicap ramps at the Community Center and will speak with Bruce about new cemetery signs related to cemetery bylaws. Several agenda items—including yard issues, village ordinances and zoning matters—were tabled for future consideration.
During new business, the board approved the village's 2025 website fees after a motion from Randy and a second from Becca. Separately, the board announced that an older storage shed will be placed up for bids and that village residents will receive a notice about the bidding process. The scheduled budget meeting was postponed, and Becca moved to approve the treasurer's report; Randy seconded and the motion carried.
Becca then moved to adjourn; the meeting ended at 7:20 p.m. The board's next regular meeting is set for Nov. 13, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Community Hall. The minutes were recorded by Cindy Hanson, Village Clerk.
