Norfolk Select Board appoints planning committee members and approves surge contracts, warrants and minutes

The board also approved the appointment of Melissa Mayo to the Southwest Advisory Planning Committee; Mayo described MAPC’s regional meetings and volunteered to bring periodic updates to the Select Board.
Later in the meeting the board voted to approve the surge contracts as printed in the agenda and authorized the town administrator to execute the related documents. The motion to approve surge contracts was seconded and passed on a voice vote.
The Select Board also approved warrants for the period cited in the agenda (June 15–July 10). The board approved several sets of meeting minutes (03/30/2026, 04/29/2026, 05/06/2026, 05/18/2026, 05/28/2026) by motion and vote. One member recused themself from the May 13 minutes and later registered an abstention when that minutes vote was taken, per the record.
Votes: motions were made, seconded and carried by voice vote where recorded. The minutes vote included a recorded abstention by the member who had recused themself from the May 13 item; the transcript does not list a roll-call tally of each meeting member for all motions.
What’s next: staff will execute the approved contract documents per the authorization, and the board will continue work on committee appointments and policy questions at future meetings.
