Epping approves fishing derby and Sig Sauer events, asks company to propose permit schedule

The Epping Board of Selectmen approved three large-assembly permits at its March 16 meeting: a children's Fishing Derby (April 25, rain date May 2) at Fox Run Conservation Pond, Sig Sauer's Summerfest (July 11 at 233 Exeter Road) and Tactical Games at Sig Sauer (Aug. 8–9).
Selectman Cliff Cray moved to approve the Fishing Derby permit; the motion carried 5-0. The board subsequently approved the Sig Sauer Summerfest and Tactical Games permits and discussed differences between race-track permitting processes and Sig Sauer events, noting Sig Sauer does not operate under the same racing by-laws. Selectman Joe Trombley directed Town Administrator Jake Roger to contact Sig Sauer about the possibility of creating a schedule of large assembly permits to help with planning.
The board did not impose additional conditions in the public record provided; the motion records show the permits were approved by majority vote and that administrators were asked to follow up with the event organizer.
The approvals allow the events to proceed under any applicable state and local safety requirements and subject to organizers meeting permit conditions outside the public discussion.
