The Riley County Commission on July 9 adopted an updated home-rule resolution that generally prohibits alcohol possession and consumption at Seco Park but carves out two limited exceptions, allowing regulated alcohol sales at the Riley County Fair and Little Apple Mayfest within designated, controlled areas.
Jacob Hansen, who presented the resolution in the administrative session, described the measure as “generally prohibited” but said the rewrite includes two specific event exceptions and requires event organizers to provide indemnity agreements and proof of insurance. “They will still need to provide indemnity agreements and things of that,” Hansen said, and the resolution repeals a prior April version to reflect the updated terms.
Commissioners moved, seconded and voted in favor of executing the resolution as presented. The board recorded a unanimous affirmative voice vote, and commissioners were asked to sign the resolution.
