School board approves two teacher nominations for 2025-26 school year

Board Chair Brodie Deshaies moved to accept Superintendent Caroline Arakelian’s nomination of Jill Nielson as a 100% teacher at Track 4/Step 15 with an annual salary of $94,986; Mary Schillereff seconded the motion, which carried unanimously (9-0-0).
Later in the meeting, Mary Schillereff moved to accept Arakelian’s nomination of Kate Barber as a 100% teacher at Track 3/Step 10 with an annual salary of $67,780. Danielle Van Dusen seconded; the motion passed with all in favor except Dr. James Manning, who abstained (8-0-1).
The nominations were recorded as Superintendent nominations and were voted on by roll call. The board recorded the step and track for each hire and the corresponding salary as part of the motions. No additional conditions or amendments to the appointments were recorded in the public minutes.
The approvals took place during the meeting’s personnel segment; the board returned from a non-public session after personnel actions were taken. The minutes record that the board adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
