Committee approves conveyance for Maynard Homes redevelopment

The Committee of Infrastructure approved resolution R 26 0 3 8 on June 24, 2026, authorizing conveyance of discontinued portions of Major Drive and Spaulding Street to allow the developer of the Maynard Homes project to obtain title to the former road parcels.

Morgan Hollis, an attorney at Gottesman and Hollis, told the committee the roads have been discontinued and are being constructed upon as part of the Maynard Homes redevelopment. "This is the last step that, we had the roads discontinued, but there is a requirement in the city to in order to get a deeding of the roadways, we would need to have a resolution," Hollis said, adding the developer will take title when the conveyance is authorized.

Committee members asked if there were any questions; none were raised, and the committee held a roll-call vote that carried. The chair declared the motion carried and the resolution approved.

Why it matters: Conveyance will move ownership of specified discontinued road segments from the city to the private developer, enabling private road layout and final real-estate transfers in the Maynard Homes redevelopment.
