The Oak Grove Board of Aldermen on March 16 approved a series of routine measures by unanimous vote: a nonbinding projected property tax rate filing, an amendment to the municipal judge’s contract to align compensation with inflation, and an amendment to the city prosecutor’s contract with a similar inflationary adjustment.
Matt explained the annual requirement for the nonbinding projected property tax levy. "This does not actually set the levy. That will be set by Board Action in September," Matt told the board, and said the city must submit the projection to the county clerk by April 8. The board voted to approve the resolution filing the projected rate.
On personnel measures, the board approved Bill 26‑06 to amend the contract entered 02/20/2001 regarding compensation for the municipal judge, bringing pay up to reflect inflation and adding an inflationary calculator; the ordinance was adopted as No. 2159. The board also approved Bill 26‑07 to amend the contract entered 03/05/2001 with the city prosecutor for the same purpose; that ordinance was adopted as No. 2160.
All motions carried by recorded roll call votes with the members present voting in the affirmative. The board heard brief information reports following the votes and then adjourned.
