The Oak Grove Board of Aldermen on March 2 approved two separate three‑year lease renewals for community organizations.
Matt, a board member, presented the Historical Society’s request to renew its lease for the north side of 1300 South Broadway (the former City Hall). He recited the sequence of previous short renewals and said the board approved a 3‑year lease in April 2023 that is now expiring in April 2026; the board approved another three‑year renewal running April 2026–April 2029 under the same terms.
Separately the Oak Grove Chamber of Commerce requested a three‑year renewal for its space; the board approved that lease in a separate motion. Because the two leases are distinct actions, councilors made separate motions and votes for each.
Board members took a moment during information reports to thank volunteers who staff both organizations. The motions to approve both leases passed by voice vote.
