Oak Grove renews conditional use permit for Cargo Trucking, requires site improvements

The Oak Grove Board of Aldermen voted March 16 to renew a conditional use permit for Cargo Trucking LLC to operate a vehicle and equipment storage yard at 400 Northwest 2nd Terrace and adopted Ordinance No. 2158.
Planning and Zoning staff Justin told the board the Planning & Zoning Commission recommended renewal on the condition the site’s entire lot and driveway be improved and installed as a hard surface “per requirements set forth in Section 405.215,” and that the existing chain‑link fence receive a top rail. "Those two conditions themselves, they have to be completed within the 6 months from the date of approval," Justin said, adding that failure to comply would prompt enforcement action.
Pam Pope, who reported from the Planning & Zoning Commission, said the commission favored keeping the business in town while preventing the property from reverting to a prior salvage‑like condition. "Wanted the board wanted to keep the conditional use permit at 1 year basically to make sure that it did not turn back into the same salvage," she said.
The applicant, Igor, told the board he has selected a company to do the hard‑surface work. "Yes. We got decision, and we got a company gonna start doing that," Igor said when asked whether bids had been finalized.
The board conducted first and second readings by title and then moved to adopt Bill 26‑05. The roll call vote was recorded in the affirmative and the ordinance was adopted as No. 2158. The board did not receive public testimony during the advertised hearing.
Next steps: the conditions must be completed within six months of approval to qualify the permit for a one‑year renewal; the city indicated it would pursue enforcement if the conditions are not met. The clerk read the ordinance title into the record prior to adoption.
