Oak Grove adopts conditional-use permits for massage studio and woodworking shop

The Oak Grove Board of Aldermen on March 2 adopted two ordinances approving conditional‑use permits for local businesses, voting unanimously to approve both measures.
City staff said Planning & Zoning held public hearings on Feb. 18 and recommended approval for both applications. The mayor opened and then closed both public hearings at the March 2 meeting after no members of the public offered testimony.
For the first ordinance, the city clerk read the bill title: “An ordinance approving a conditional use permit for Simply Needed, Carol Stigmeyer applicant, for a massage establishment located at 111 Southwest 12th Street, Unit A, Oak Grove, Missouri.” The board moved and adopted Bill 26‑03; the measure became Ordinance No. 2156.
The board also approved Bill 26‑04, adopting a conditional‑use permit for Urban Oak Woodworking. The clerk read the title that named Larry Yansick as the applicant for a cabinet carpentry shop at 405 Southeast 10th Street, Unit B; that bill became Ordinance No. 2157.
Justin, a city staff member who presented both items, said Planning & Zoning recommended that the Urban Oak permit be approved as an indefinite permit and noted the office recommended conditions to limit nuisance impacts: keep the dust collector installed, keep garage doors closed to reduce noise, and maintain hours of operation from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The board accepted those conditions as part of the approval.
Both ordinances passed by unanimous voice vote; the clerk announced each adopted bill’s ordinance number after the roll call. The approvals allow the businesses to operate at the addresses listed under the conditions recorded in the permit files.
