At a meeting of the local zoning board, the presiding member moved and the board voted to continue application 2026-001 to the June 2026 CBA meeting after the applicant requested a continuance and a waiver of the 90-day deadline.
The motion was introduced by the presiding member (Chair, Speaker 2), who read a letter received April 22, 2026, from Stephanie L Bridal, PE of Tracing Seasons Engineering PLLC asking that the case be continued and the 90-day time limit waived. "I would make a motion to continue case 2026-001 to the June 2026 CBA meeting," the Chair said; Speaker 3 seconded and the board recorded the motion as carried on a roll-call vote.
Members used the discussion to highlight a recent statutory change affecting review windows. The Chair noted that "we have to review applications within 45 days," and reminded the board that a 90-day waiver must be obtained if the application cannot be decided within that period. The board discussed how continuances have been used in the past and whether changes to internal procedures should set limits on how long applications can be continued.
Separately, members conducted a line-by-line review of draft minutes, correcting spellings and references (for example, clarifying references to the State Historic Preservation Officer and standardizing the phrasing "Shorefront Overlay District"). A motion to accept the January 13 minutes as amended carried; one member abstained because she was not present at that meeting.
The board noted that recordings and conference materials from a recent training should be available within a few weeks. Members set the next meeting for Tuesday, June 9 at 7 p.m., and directed that all material for that meeting be submitted by noon on Monday, May 18.
No formal decision on the underlying merits of case 2026-001 was made; the continuance moves consideration to the June meeting and preserves the need for any required waivers under the applicable timeline.
