Nelson Select Board forwards Complete Streets grant info to Planning Board; seeks alternative HVAC bidder for library move

The Nelson Select Board on July 24 voted to forward grant information about Complete Street policies to the town Planning Board for consideration. The Select Board indicated it was not interested in pursuing the grant itself and wants the Planning Board to review the policy materials before presenting any article to voters.
The board also discussed a procurement matter: Gary Jackson Heating/Cooling declined to bid on moving old HVAC units at the library to the safety building. Chair Brenna Kucinski said she will contact Decatur Heating to see if that company is interested in bidding on the work.
The forward and procurement steps were recorded as motions and carried 3-0. The move to forward grant materials is intended to let the Planning Board consider Complete Street policy language and whether any grant pursuit is appropriate.
