Staff also noted ongoing downtown sidewalk construction: contractors plan to begin pouring curb and gutter imminently and electric-department crews will install new light poles and bollards as phases complete. Planning and zoning staff flagged a parking-code discrepancy for single-family homes and scheduled a special meeting to propose clarifying ordinance language because recent building patterns (one-car garages) do not align with current code wording.
The update covered both recruitment and near-term construction activity; board members were invited to act as local ambassadors for Odessa as recruitment efforts proceed.
