Nelson Select Board approves minutes, manifests, permits and $6,500 cemetery design contract

The Nelson Select Board on July 24 approved a slate of routine and project-specific items, including minutes from July 10, accounts payable manifests, a timber report certification, a $6,500 cemetery design contract and two building permits. The motions were made by Selectman Michael Blaudschun, seconded by Chair Brenna Kucinski and carried 3-0.
The board first approved both the public and non-public minutes from its July 10 meeting and then voted to accept the manifests for July 17 and July 24 as presented. The board also certified a Report of Timber for L. Daniels.
One of the substantive contract approvals was a Cemetery Design Contract with Grever & Ward Inc. for $6,500. The board approved a lien release for V. Hutchins covering payments from 1999 and 2000 that had not been recorded at the registry of deeds at the time of payment. The board approved a building permit for T. Rich (on land of K. Rich) to construct a 30-foot by 72-foot greenhouse to replace a smaller structure, and approved a building permit for D. Simons (on W. Mackenzie property) for a 16-foot by 12-foot rear deck after review of submitted plans.
All motions recorded in the meeting minutes list Michael Blaudschun as the mover and Brenna Kucinski as the seconder; each recorded vote carried 3-0. The meeting adjourned at 4:40 p.m.; the minutes were prepared for the August 7, 2024 record.
