Palmyra board adopts resolution to appoint electric commissioners, promotes electrical crew foreman

The Palmyra Board of Public Works on March 5 adopted Resolution #2026-01 to appoint a director and alternate director to the Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission (DBA Missouri Electric Commission) and approved a personnel change in the electrical department.
President Ernie Boulware called the meeting to order. Electrical Manager Pete Dames reported he attended an Ameren transmission-line meeting and told the board the planned line will not affect the City of Palmyra. Dames also said the electrical budget has been balanced and submitted and that staff corrected a high-voltage reading after adjusting a transformer.
Dames recommended that A.J. O’Brien be placed in charge of daily operations of the electrical crew with the title of general foreman and a pay increase. The board moved to accept the recommendation; the motion was seconded and carried. The promotion sets O’Brien’s pay at $40.83 per hour, effective immediately.
The board recorded the formal adoption of Resolution #2026-01 appointing a director and alternate to the Missouri Electric Commission. The minutes note the motion was made by Gary Stuhlman and seconded by Gerry Maas; the motion carried on a call of ayes and nays.
The meeting record shows routine approvals—agenda, minutes and department bills—were also carried earlier in the session. Council Liaison Steve Bland entered the meeting at 5:25 p.m. and the board adjourned at 5:57 p.m.
