The Palmyra Parks & Recreation Board voted to accept a $132,000 bid from Byron & Jones Construction to resurface the infield at Foster Field and will forward the acceptance to the Palmyra City Council for final approval.
Board member Jill Englehardt moved to accept the $132,000 bid; board member Joe Knochel seconded the motion. The roll-call vote recorded the listed members as ayes and no nays were recorded.
Park Director Doug Meyers said he will discuss the bid alternates with Jim Lowe to determine which alternate projects, if any, the city should pursue. The board’s motion was to accept the base bid and submit the acceptance to City Council rather than directly awarding a contract at the board level.
The City Council will review the board’s recommendation in a subsequent meeting before any contract is executed.
