The Palmyra Board of Public Works on March 19 opened a public hearing on the board’s fiscal year 2026–2027 budget at 5:00 p.m.; President Erne st W. Boulware closed the hearing one minute later after receiving no public comments.
After the brief hearing the board conducted routine business. President Ernie W. Boulware moved to approve the agenda; Tim Browning seconded and the motion carried on a voice call of ayes and nays. Browning also moved to approve the March 5 meeting minutes, seconded by Gerry Maas; that motion carried. A separate motion by Tim Browning, seconded by Gerry Maas, approved payment of bills for the electric, water and sewer departments; the minutes note each passed on a voice call of ayes and nays but do not list vote tallies.
The board reviewed the financial report and plant and payroll reports. No specific dollar amounts or unusual findings are recorded in the minutes.
On personnel business, the board approved job descriptions for the Electrical Manager and Electrical General Foreman and sent the documents to the personnel committee for final approval; that motion was made by Tim Browning and seconded by Ernie W. Boulware and carried by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 6:23 p.m.; the minutes were signed by President Ernie W. Boulware and Assistant Secretary Deena L. Parsons.
