Palmyra promotes wastewater operator; DNR‑funded sewer projects and truck‑wash discharge raised

Water and Wastewater Manager Dustin Smith reported on DNR‑funded water and wastewater projects and said he had met with engineer Mark Bross to coordinate next steps. Smith said sewer easements are being sought for the project and that seven of the 18 required easements have been signed to date. He also said the annual pretreatment report for Leeser Truck Wash has been prepared and that he will work with Adam Collins to submit the report to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Smith said Leeser Truck Wash is believed to be accepting a chemical that is causing foaming at the wastewater plant and placing strain on operations.
The board encouraged staff development to support operations; the record notes that the board still wants Adam Collins to pursue testing for a Class B operator’s license. The meeting also included a personnel concern about an employee calling in without accrued time and repeated lateness; the minutes record the concern but do not describe any formal disciplinary action.
