Board approves modest 2026-27 lunch price increases, breakfast unchanged

The Broken Arrow Board of Education approved modest increases to student lunch prices for the 2026-27 school year in response to rising food and operational costs.
Miss McNally presented the recommendation, noting there had been no increase in meal prices since 2022-23 and that the adjustments are intended to keep prices affordable while offsetting cost pressures. The approved prices are: ECC and elementary $3.15 (up $0.15), middle school $3.35 (up $0.15), and a base high school lunch of $3.40 (up $0.15); the current maximum high school lunch price of $3.75 remains unchanged. Staff said breakfast pricing will not change.
A board member moved to approve the price changes, the motion was seconded and the roll-call vote was unanimous.
Staff said the district compared surrounding districts and believed the recommended prices were fair and competitive. Final implementation will be managed by the food-services team.
