Hudson also raised concerns about unequal treatment at scenes and alleged failures by officers to intervene when misconduct occurred. He said there are “serious questions and concerns as to whether or not appropriate K-9 policies will follow,” and about “possible medical neglect while in the care, custody and control of the Montgomery County Jail.”
“These are signs of weakness, incompetence, and lack of empathy and concern,” Hudson said, urging county leaders to give the public answers, assurances and justice for the family involved. He added that “we know the nation is watching.”
Other members of the public touched on related governance themes. Eric Claunch, a Clarksville city council member who spoke in the same public-comment block, urged officials to engage with people who disagree and stressed transparency and accountability in local government.
The commission took no formal action on the complaints during the meeting; the public-comments period closed after three speakers and the board moved to its scheduled agenda items. No staff report or formal referral on the incidents was recorded on the meeting transcript.
