Assessor Marcus Barr told the commission the county’s last full flight was in 2022 and that substantial residential and commercial growth has made updated imagery necessary for accurate property assessment. Barr described two offerings: orthophotography (straight‑down imagery) with an estimated cost of roughly $155,000, and optional oblique (side) photography that he estimated would add about $30,000 to $35,000.
Barr said the imagery would meet geospatial standards and be compatible with the county’s GIS systems, and he proposed funding the work through the assessor’s assessment fund.
The commission voted to approve soliciting sealed bids (listed as 2025RES081) by a unanimous roll call. The county will receive and evaluate bids and return with a recommended vendor and contract for commission approval.
