The Platte County Commission approved a professional-services contract with BHC Inc. to design resurfacing and minor improvements to a multi-mile county trail on Jan. 5.
Parks and Recreation staff said the contract covers design work to rehabilitate mostly asphalt trail segments, fill small gaps and address narrowed sections near roadway intersections. Commissioners and staff discussed preliminary cost estimates and expected that construction bids for the initial work would come in well below $1 million.
A commissioner moved approval of the contract and the motion passed 3-0. County staff said the contract is for design services and that construction would be bid later with scope and costs refined during design.
