At its May 12 meeting, the Redevelopment Commission approved funding adjustments for local street and sidewalk projects. The commission approved an additional $39,961 to construct sidewalks on one side of Harrison Street as part of the Charlestown Community Crossings program; the additional amount supplements a prior local match of $11,689.90 previously approved for CCMG projects.
The commission also approved spending $17,857 to pave High Street at Level Street. Both motions were moved by Chuck Deaton and seconded by Robert Brooks and passed unanimously, 5-0.
Saegesser said the sidewalk work is tied to the city’s CCMG (Community Crossings Matching Grant) projects on Madison Street, Harrison Street and Green Alley and that the estimate provided covers construction of sidewalks on one side of Harrison Street.
