Commission approves donation of easement to Clark County REMC; Vice President Brooks authorized to execute agreement

The Redevelopment Commission voted 4-0-1 on May 12 to donate an easement at Shadow Lake Park to Clark County REMC in exchange for additional lighting to serve the park and the newly activated portion of Kevin Hammersmith Park. The motion authorized Vice President Bobby (Robert) Brooks to execute the agreement outside a meeting after City legal counsel approves the final language.
Consultant Jill Saegesser reported that legal counsel for both the REMC and the City are working through detailed easement language. John Spencer moved to donate the easement and to authorize Brooks to execute the agreement upon counsel approval; Chuck Deaton seconded. President Derek Coombs abstained from the vote; the motion carried.
The commission did not provide the full easement text at the meeting; Saegesser said the matter is pending final legal review.
