Commission authorizes advertisement for Little League facilities RFPQ

The Charlestown City Commission authorized staff to advertise a request for qualifications (RFPQ) for the Little League facilities renovation project and approved the proposed timeline.
Staff outlined a schedule calling for advertisements on the 10th and 17th (published at least seven days apart), a response deadline of Aug. 14, and review by the selection committee that includes Mr. Deaton, Mr. Hester and Mayor Hodges. Staff said the goal is to present a recommendation at the Sept. 1 meeting so the project can stay on track for a planned June ground-breaking next year.
A commissioner moved to authorize staff to advertise the RFPQ; another seconded the motion and the commission approved it by voice vote.
Staff emphasized the schedule is intended to give prospective respondents almost a month to prepare proposals.
