Parks commission approves two applicants to forward to City Council

Chair Steve Oliver opened the nominations process and three applicants were put forward: Sue Ellen Maddux, Jerry Burns and Jonathan Tribula. A motion to approve the applications of Sue Ellen Maddux and Jerry Burns passed unanimously; the motion was made by Jonathan Britt and seconded by Billy Hooker.
The commission record shows a unanimous vote to approve the two applications. Both applicants are to be presented to the City Council for approval at its March 3 meeting.
The action fills two open city seats on the Recreation Commission pending City Council approval. The commission did not record individual dissenting votes; the minutes state the vote was unanimous. The next procedural step is the March 3 City Council review.
