Gene Denu, representing the Historical Society, said preliminary engineering had been estimated at $150,000 and additional construction costs could increase by $20,000–$25,000; the Society will continue fundraising and return with detailed cost estimates.
- Temporary Event Permits: the board approved a permit for the Manchester Bass Club fishing tournament (April 25, 2026; Permit #2026-41) and a permit for the NH Junior Bassmasters (July 11, 2026; Permit #2026-36), with a parking plan discussed for the July event.
- Commercial Vessel Landing Permits: permits for Big Sandy II (YMCA Greater Boston), Millie B (NH Boat Museum), Clearwater Boat Charters, and the NH State Police Marine Patrol were approved and will be charged 2025 rates for the season.
- Jet-ski lease/license: the Select Board approved a Back Bay jet-ski license for the 2026 season conditioned on receipt of an insurance certificate or rider listing all vessels (including VIN or bow numbers) and other required documentation.
- Bulk vote items: the board approved weekly manifests (April 3 and April 10), a yield tax levy item, multiple abatements (totaling $7,445 noted by Mr. Deshaies) and a series of property tax exemptions/credits as listed in the meeting packet.
- WCTV Great Hall acoustics: the board authorized Wolfeboro Community Television to re‑review the 2016 acoustical study at no cost to the town and report findings; the motion passed 5–0.
Most actions passed unanimously. Mrs. Murray added the tax‑exemptions item to the bulk vote and Mr. Thurston asked publicly whether other taxpayers would pick up any shortfall caused by abatements.
Next steps: organizations will proceed with permit plans; the Historical Society will continue fundraising and return with final cost estimates; town staff will collect any required insurance documents and follow up on manifests and abatements.
