Selectmen approve roadside cleanup contract and pay road services as bids readied for Nason Road and Drinkwater culvert

The Board of Selectmen on April 15 approved a $3,387 contract with Save a Tree to perform roadside cleanup with a two‑person crew for two days, and separately authorized payment of an $8,541 core services bill submitted by the Road Agent. Both motions passed unanimously.
Road Agent Russ Hilliard told the Board the Brush Dump 'white goods' day will move to June 13 and an earlier July 4 service day will be moved to July 11. He said a meeting is scheduled with the Road Agent, Building Inspector and Drinkwater culvert abutters, and that Jones & Beach has no remaining paperwork for the culvert; bids will be issued for completion of Nason Road.
Resident Mark Ginsburg asked during public comment whether the Brush Dump could be open longer than the current 8 a.m.–noon hours. Chairman Edward Beattie said extended hours would require additional staffing and could be considered during next year’s budgeting process.
