Wolfeboro waives procurement rules to buy demonstration ambulance from AutoTronics

Fire Chief Tom Zotti (speaker 19) summarized the ambulance procurement process and the need to act quickly: other vendors' delivery windows were two to three years out, while AutoTronics could deliver a vehicle on the assembly line with limited customization by June. The vehicle price and included equipment were competitive compared with written quotes the town had received from multiple vendors.
Board member Bridal (speaker 6) moved to waive procurement policy on the basis that AutoTronics offered a competitive price and significantly shorter delivery time; the motion was seconded and the board carried the motion on roll call. Mister Thurston (speaker 7) recorded an abstention; other members voted yes. The chair said the motion carries and staff would proceed with the purchase process and delivery preparations.
The purchase decision followed presentation of multiple written quotes in the packet and staff recommendations. The board did not adopt further contract details in open session; staff said they would finalize procurement paperwork consistent with the waiver and return to the board with any residual administrative steps as required.
