The committee reported that EAB has been detected in Fargo and that 36% of Bottineau’s boulevard trees are ash. Councilmember Seykora moved to authorize the grant application, Councilmember Marsden seconded, and the motion carried. The grant program carries a maximum award of $25,000 and the city’s match was identified as $5,000 to come from EAB Fund #8330. The city will advertise for a contractor to perform the removals.
The council did not award a contract at the meeting; authorization was limited to applying for the grant and identifying the local match source.
