Engineers: water/sewer project permits in place; $5.14M must be expended by end of 2026

Macclesfield officials received an update on the town's water and sewer project during the Jan. 13 meeting. Rich Moore of McDavid Associates told the Board that all permits are now in place and the town is waiting to receive the Authorization to Construct before going to bid.
Moore said Kim Cole is drafting bid and design packets and that he will send two sets of plans to the town. He reminded commissioners that the full $5.14 million in project funding "needs to be expended by the end of 2026," and that licensed utility contractors will be required to submit bids. No formal action was taken at the meeting; the report was informational and staff were instructed to continue preparing bid documents.
Commissioners did not set a specific bid schedule in the meeting and asked staff to follow up with the engineer on timing and plan delivery.
