Tioga to re‑advertise police opening after on‑duty injury; resignation accepted

Chief of Police Josh Nelson requested approval to advertise a full‑time position with a revised salary range of $56,701.24 to $62,513.12 depending on experience and to accept applications through June 21, 2025. Commissioner Ralston moved to approve the advertisement; the motion passed with ayes from Ralston, Jaden Iverson and Steven Dye.
Separately, the commission approved the formal resignation of Officer Reising. The resignation was accepted by motion of Commissioner Ralston and recorded withayes from Ralston, Iverson and Dye.
Commissioners noted the department has assistance available from the county sheriff's office as needed while recruitment continues. The commission did not add a new position; the advertisement adjusts the salary range for the existing vacancy. The advertisement deadline is June 21, 2025.
The commission will reconvene on June 16, 2025; the recruitment timeline and candidate interviews will proceed according to staff guidance.
