Tioga approves Signal Road repairs, lift‑station work and deputy auditor hire

Commissioner Dye presented a quote from ND Sewage Pump and Lift Station Service Co. to remove two old guide rails and install two new rails for $9,885. That motion also passed with a recorded vote of Ralston, Iverson and Dye in favor.
The commission approved renewing a maturing Bank of Tioga certificate of deposit, including earned interest, for another six‑month term after a motion by Commissioner Iverson. The CD term and renewal were recorded without additional conditions.
On personnel and finance administration, the commission voted to hire Brenda Rohde as a full‑time deputy auditor at an hourly rate of $28.39 after interviews with four candidates. The motion passed on a roll call from the three voting commissioners.
The meeting also included routine approvals tied to community events: the commission approved a special‑event liquor permit for 'Madhouse' to serve alcohol outside the Freedom Fest tent and authorized Hill's porta‑john rental costs to be paid by the city. Commissioners also agreed to dedicate a few city employees to assist with Freedom Fest setup and cleanup.
All motions listed above were recorded with ayes from Commissioners Ralston, Iverson and Dye. The commission approved payroll and June bills via the consent agenda before adjourning at 9:07 p.m. The next scheduled meeting is June 16, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Tioga City Hall.
