Selectmen approve minutes, consent agenda and manifests; conservation commission requests $10,000
Summary
At its Jan. 28 meeting the Hillsborough Board of Selectmen approved the Jan. 9 minutes, the consent agenda and authorized payroll and accounts payable manifests. The Conservation Commission requested $10,000 for 2026 and the board scheduled a budget session for Feb. 2; a sidewalk bid was sent to the state for review.
Chairman James C. Bailey III moved to approve the meeting minutes dated Jan. 9, 2026; the Board voted unanimously in favor.
Chairman Bailey then moved to approve the consent agenda for Jan. 28, 2026; Selectman Richard Pelletier seconded the motion and the Board voted in favor. The consent agenda included HUD CDBG disclosures, a BABA determination form for 8 Bridge Street, elderly and veterans’ tax-credit/exemption items, solar exemptions for multiple parcels, a quitclaim deed correction, an abatement, and a tax-map maintenance proposal.
Bailey moved to authorize the Selectmen to sign manifests and to order the Treasurer to sign payroll checks and accounts payable vouchers. The motion, seconded by Selectman Pelletier, passed. The motion authorized payroll checks (numbers 20797–20846, Vouchers 3, 4 & 5) totaling $426,671.55; accounts payable checks 035247–035279 totaling $37,499.48 for 2025; and accounts payable checks 035280–035323 totaling $127,488.95 for 2026.
Richard Head, chairman of the Conservation Commission, requested $10,000 for the Conservation Commission’s 2026 budget; the Selectmen took the request under advisement. The Selectmen set a budget work session for Monday, Feb. 2 at 2:00 p.m.
Chairman Bailey reported the town received one bid for the sidewalk project that was opened on Jan. 21 (the minutes state 2016, which appears to be a clerical error); the bid has been sent to the state for review and acceptance. The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
