Tori Gelinas told the Hillsborough Board of Selectmen that the Hillsborough Youth Athletic Association (HYAA) has never been charged to use Grimes Field and that the organization charges the same application fee regardless of whether a child lives in Hillsborough, Deering, Washington, or Windsor.
Because registration for the baseball and softball season was already underway, the Selectmen agreed to waive any newly proposed field-usage fee for the current season. The board asked to revisit the matter before July 1 when soccer registration begins so the town and HYAA can determine whether a usage fee should be applied to all applicants or only to non-Hillsborough residents.
