Superintendent outlines 18-month strategic plan, highlights Infinite Campus migration and accessibility fixes

Superintendent Dr. Fosnott presented the district's 18-month update to its strategic plan and the monitoring reports on July 13, telling the board the district remains in compliance with its operational expectations and outlining near-term priorities.
"We're looking at reducing initiatives and decreasing educator workload so teachers can focus on students," Dr. Fosnott said, describing the plan's emphasis on strengthening instruction, literacy and personalized learning. He highlighted expansion of career pathways, supports for student well-being and the district's work on systems of behavior supports and staff de-escalation training.
Dr. Fosnott reported that the annual OE-1 Global Operational Expectations review found the district in compliance and cited a community survey with about 85% favorable responses to district direction. He also presented OE-2, the emergency superintendent succession plan, describing an internal succession order the report lists (Dr. Johnson first, Mr. Barnhart second) and the district's contingency procedures.
On technology, Dr. Fosnott discussed the district's Infinite Campus migration — replacing PowerSchool — and asked parents to watch for communications and an Infinite Campus login and app launch expected in the coming weeks. "You're gonna get an email that says things about busing. Please take that and please execute that," he said, urging early engagement to avoid first-day service delays.
Dr. Fosnott also told the board the district took temporary steps to post agendas as static PDFs after SharePoint access problems made materials difficult to retrieve, and said a longer-term accessibility fix is in progress.
Board members commended the report, asked clarifying questions about communications and implementation, and the board accepted the monitoring reports by motion and roll-call vote.
