The Atlantic Beach Town Council on Monday removed Resolution 2304-01 — supporting a Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) grant application for Phase 1 of the Atlantic Beach Boardwalk Renovation and committing matching funds — from the April 24 agenda and scheduled a special meeting for Friday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m. to further discuss the boardwalk project, the proposed budget and paid parking rates.
Councilmember Joseph Starling made the motion to remove the resolution from tonight’s agenda and to set the special meeting; Mayor Pro Tem Austin Waters seconded. The motion carried 4-0. Councilmembers also approved routine consent items including finance reports, budget amendments and minutes before proceeding to other business.
The council indicated the special meeting will allow more time to review the boardwalk funding package and to address paid parking rate proposals. No formal action on the PARTF resolution or on parking rates was taken at the April 24 meeting; staff was asked to prepare materials for the April 28 session so councilmembers can consider funding commitments and rate options with full information.
